How to Stay Informed and Connected

Staying connected is key to a successful school experience. We’ve set up many ways for families to get important information, connect with staff and to share information & questions.

Meet: Staff are available to meet either in person or online using Zoom to discuss any concerns and/or questions you may have. These meetings will typically occur before or after school. Please contact the teacher ahead of time to find a mutually convenient time.

Phone: Teachers begin their day at 8:15am. Parents may leave a message for teachers during the school day. Please call the main office at 703-721-2100, and you will be directed to their voicemail. Please note that teachers may not be able to check their voicemail until after dismissal. If you have time-sensitive information to share, please contact the main office.

Cafeteria: 703-721-2120   Health Room: 703-721-2110   Attendance line: 703-721-2155

Email: Please refer to our staff directory. Again, teachers may not see it right away, so please do not include urgent information.

Talking Points: This app allows teachers and parents to communicate in their home language through texts. Your child’s teacher will set this up with you at the beginning of school.

Teachers are expected to respond to parents by the end of the next school day. For example, if you email a teacher at 10:00am on Tuesday, you should expect a response by the end of the day on Wednesday. If you find any challenges connecting with a teacher, please contact Ms. Consolla or Ms. Kirkland for support.

Other Ways to Stay Connected

Newsletter: Each week, we share a News You Choose newsletter called What’s Happening at Mount Eagle. You can subscribe to it through the FCPS newsletter subscriptions. You can click here to subscribe to our newsletter as well as any other schools' newsletters.  Our newsletter also posted on the homepage of our website.

e-Notify: Important announcements will be shared using our e-Notify system of emails, text messages & phone calls to all parents/guardians of FCPS students. Check these messages as soon as you receive them because they usually contain time-sensitive information. This system uses the official contact information in our Student Information System. If this information changes, please contact our office as soon as possible to update your contact information or update it in ParentVue.
