Academic Plan for ESSER III
ELA Outcome : By June 2023, 70% of students will pass the end of year reading SOL as measured by the SOL and 100% of students will make their SOL growth goal.
Strategy 1
- Leverage Tier 1 whole group and small group instruction to address student needs and close gaps
Strategy 2
- Leverage time before and after school to provide interventions for students not making expected academic progress
Strategy 3
- Target significant student needs through intensive interventions during and outside school time
Math Outcome: Grades K-2 students will show 90% mastery of the counting log at the end of the year. Grades 3-6 students will show a 30% growth rate from the fall VGA to the Spring SOL.
Strategy 1
- Provide professional learning, collaborative planning time and time to learn about evidence-based resources to all instructional staff to support Tier 1 instruction
Strategy 2
- Over the next three years, all teachers K-3 and special education teachers will use AVMR strategies to move students forward in counting and computation.
Strategy 3
- Target significant student needs through intensive interventions during and outside school time
Wellness Plan for ESSER III
Outcome: By June 2023, students in Grades 3-6 will report at least a 10-point increase in the percentage of students reporting the skills and competencies aligned with school success on the SEL Screener from 44% in Spring 2022 to 54% in Spring 2023.

Equip teachers with strategies for cooperation, collaboration and mindfulness (Tier 1)

- Support family engagement with instruction around SEL strategies (Tier 1)
Strategy 3
- Teach students self-regulation strategies and appropriate use of sensory supplies (Tiers 2 & 3)

Outcome: By June 2023, there will be a 25% reduction in the percentage of Grades 3-6 students scoring at a Level 1 or 2 on the Speaking domain WIDA assessment.
Strategy 1
- All students in Grades 1-6 will complete at least one individual oral presentation as part of a project-based learning unit and use a Communicator self-assessment.
Strategy 2
- The ESOL team will align their instructional schedule to support students in Grades 3-6 in content areas in order to develop oral language skills.
Strategy 3
- Provide multiple opportunities for student presentations outside the classroom.
Science
Outcome: By June 2023, students in Grade 5 will demonstrate a passs rate on the Science SOL of at least 70%.
Strategy 1
- Provide dedicated time for Grades 4 & 5 teachers to build content knowledge, unpack units and plan for & analyze assessments.
Strategy 2
- By February 2023, provide remediation for grade 5 students around a grade 4 unit.
Strategy 3
- Implemement at least 2 nonfiction comprehension/language units with science content as a central topic for investigation.
